Secondary brain tumors are caused from cancer that originates in another part of the body and metastasizes to the brain. Many tumor or cancer types can spread to the brain, the most common being lung cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, certain sarcomas, testicular and germ cell tumors, and a number of others. Treatment for secondary brain tumors depends on where the cancer started and the extent of the spread and factors, such as patient’s age health, and response to previous treatment.
